Terms of Service

SolidStone Surfacing Ltd provides installation and improvement of hard surfaces for residential properties. Work includes driveways, patios, pathways, courtyard areas and other outdoor surfaces, using suitable paving, stone, concrete and related surfacing materials. It covers ground preparation, surface installation, repairs, resurfacing and finishing.

The scope of any particular project is the scope set out in the written quotation for that project. Nothing on this website forms part of that scope, and the website is provided for information only.

There is no online ordering and no e-commerce on this site. Pricing published on the site is given as a range per square metre by finish tier and is indicative only. A binding figure is provided in a written quotation after a site survey.

A contract is formed when a written quotation issued by us is accepted by you, or when we confirm acceptance in writing. Until that point, no contract exists and no work is committed. Quotations are based on the conditions visible at the time of the survey.

The price payable is the figure in the accepted quotation. Where conditions found once work is under way differ materially from those assumed at survey, such as ground conditions, buried services or access, we will tell you before proceeding and any variation will be agreed in writing before the additional work is carried out.

Payment terms are set out in the quotation. Unless stated otherwise, no deposit or payment is taken through this website.

As the work is carried out at your property, you agree to provide safe access to the area to be worked, to the routes needed for materials and for removal of excavated material, and to keep the area clear of vehicles, pets and other obstructions during working hours.

Risk in materials and equipment we bring to site remains with us until they are incorporated into the completed work or removed. Risk in the property itself remains with you, other than damage caused by our negligence. Any existing structure, surface, planting or service that could be affected by the work should be pointed out to us before work begins.

Because the work is carried out on your property and is planned around the survey, there are no goods that can be returned to us. Where a right of cancellation applies under consumer law, you may cancel by telling us in writing within the applicable period. Cancellation rights, including any circumstances in which a cancellation right does not apply, are explained in the quotation.

Where work has already been carried out at your request before a cancellation takes effect, you may be asked to pay for the work completed and for materials ordered or delivered up to that point.

Work is carried out in the sequence described on this website: ground preparation first, surface installation second, finishing last. Materials are suitable for the intended use and for the conditions agreed at survey.

The completed appearance of surfaces that occur naturally in the ground, such as natural stone, may vary in colour and marking between units. Such variation is a normal characteristic of the material and not a defect. Any matter you wish to raise about completed work should be reported to us promptly using the contact details below so that it can be inspected.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

Subject to that, our liability arising out of or in connection with a project is limited to the price paid for the work concerned. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of use, loss of profit or loss of opportunity. We are not liable for pre-existing defects in the property, or for damage arising from conditions or services at the property that were not disclosed to us before work began.

These terms, and any contract formed under them, are governed by the German law. The courts of Germany have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with them.

Nothing in this section prevents you from using any alternative dispute resolution procedure that is available to you, and nothing affects your statutory rights.
